One of my favorite things to do at the end of each school year is to look at my students’ beginning of the year work and their end of the year work side by side! It brings back so many happy memories and I am always in awe of my kinder babies’ progress each year.
A couple of years ago, I decided that I was probably not the only one excited to celebrate my kindergarteners, so I created this printable to showcase writing from the year.
My kinder kiddos and I look at their work together to celebrate their learning, and then they take it home to share with their families as well.
Read on to find out how to create this special keepsake for your kiddos!
- Save some work samples throughout the school year for each of your students. I love to do a first day of school writing and an end of school writing for sure! I usually save one of our apple writings for the fall, a Thanksgiving writing, Christmas writing, our When I Grow Up writing and a few others sprinkled in.

- “Make a copy” of those pages to add to your own Google Drive.
- Edit the text boxes with your grade level and year as needed.
- Write a letter to each of your students if you want.
- Print for each kiddo!
- Students can color the cover page and fill out the snapshot page.
- Glue the cover page to a big piece of construction paper. I like to use the 18×24, but you could also use two smaller pages as a front and a back.
- Laminate the cover page and construction paper if you want to!
- Put the snapshot, letter, and work in order inside the construction paper and staple.
